9 Surely the lowborn are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie. If weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath.
10 Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
Simply put, this passage from Psalms is a song of trust in the Lord God.
8 Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
In some versions of the passage, the text goes deeper in the form of a word, "Selah". While we don't know the true meaning for certain, Selah comes from Hebrew and it means to pause, relfect, and ask.
So, this week I encourage you to take time from your busy lives and read over this passage. Pause, reflect, and ask. What is God doing in your life today? Are you trusting in Him fully?
As one final thought to reflect on, a St. Augustine quote "Pray as if everything depends on God, act as if everything depends on you."
By iron, through iron, to iron. Laudate!
God Bless,
Samuel Newcamp
