Laudate Devotional 🙏

"He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ "

Probably one of the most motivating few verses in the New Testament, Luke recounts for us a story in which Jesus is questioned about entry into Heaven. The people ask Him, "Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?" Instead of saying yes or no, Jesus gives us a sort of playbook to gain entry to Heaven. He reminds us to "make every effort".

Often we forget that it truly takes work on our part to maintain a relationship with God. We pray to Him for strength in times of need but rarely do we thank Him afterwords for prayers answered. Then we complain the next time we don't receive what we prayed for!

Just like any relationship, it takes consistent effort to achieve great love.

When it comes to training our physical bodies, this is a good reminder to stay disciplined. If takes effort to get where we are going. Whether its losing that extra five pounds, or hitting a new PR (personal best). Set a goal for yourself (i.e Heaven) and praise Him through every movement. Be humble, ask Him for strength but remember what it's all for! You never know when those gates will shut.

By iron, through iron, to iron. Laudate!

God Bless,

The Laudate Team
