Romans 12: 1-8 A Living Sacrifice “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. ” Building from last week’s devotional, the prophet Ezekiel (Old Testament) wrote to us about the physical construction of the human body as a form of praise. In Romans 12, Paul (New Testament) writes to us describing the construction of the human heart. Now that Jesus has arrived, we have a baseline for how the human heart should be conceived within the boundaries of our faith. “…If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” The Laudate mindset is different. As one of our coaches so faithfully put it, “Do not conform, be transformed.” By iron, through iron, to iron. Laudate. God Bless, The Laudate Team |
