How did you first get involved with Laudate Fitness?
A: A couple of months ago, a friend of mine mentioned Laudate Fitness to me and we decided to attend a session together to see what it was like. I’ve been attending regularly ever since!
What is your current involvement with Laudate?
A: I attend the Thursday evening and Saturday morning Elevated Prayer sessions weekly.
What do you like about Laudate's program?
A: I like the combination of faith and fitness, as well as the intensity of the initial AMRAP sections paired with focusing on a specific muscle group each session. The mini Scripture discussions are also a great way to connect with our shared faith.
What can you tell me about Laudate's atmosphere?
A: Laudate has a great, low-stress atmosphere. The coaches are all super helpful, friendly, and welcoming. They provide great guidance for beginners, plus there’s lots of flexibility for modifying certain exercises to meet you at your fitness level. The faith aspect separates Laudate from other gyms as the focus is directed toward God and not to our own egos.
What is your faith and fitness background?
A: Faith- I was raised Catholic and attended a Catholic university, but was often apathetic about the faith. Recently I’ve been working to deepen my faith and relationship with the Lord, and Laudate is a great way to connect with other people who share the same beliefs as me.
A: Fitness- I was in marching band in high school, but since then I haven’t done much in the way of exercise. Laudate has given me an opportunity to be more active (and keep me from becoming too much of a couch potato).
Do you have any current faith and fitness goals?
A: Faith- My faith goals are to deepen my relationship with God and incorporate more prayer into my daily life.
A: Fitness- My fitness goals are to become stronger and to do every rep of every exercise with good form.
What is one thing you would say to interested people?
A: Take the plunge. It can be hard to make fitness a priority, and the first class is always the hardest, but as soon as you get over the first hurdle it becomes a lot easier to make it a habit of going and keeping up with it. And lean on the Lord always! He’ll never let you down.
